Aithu Ainthu Ainthu (555) starts with an accident where bharath is getting seriously injured and goes to coma. After few months, when he was deeply feeling bad about his lover liana's death in the accident, circumstances make him feel like there was no one called liana existed before. Even his brother santhanam and his doctor says there was no one called liana. Is bharath imagining a personality as his lover or liana was really there? if she was there why everyone plays a drama around him? How he identied the truth are the remaining story.

Director Sasi kept lot of twists and turns in equal intervals of 555 without revealing the suspence till the end. Bharath proved himself to be a wonderful actor after his first hit “Kadhal”. The scenes where he acts as a coma patient and those where he talks to himself should be really appreciated. Six packs was natural and properly utilized at appropriate place of the script.

Santhanam with his one liners."gate kum veetum share auto vitte sambathikalam pola" and "kathavula pootu podama raymonds suite ah poduvanga" makes audience laugh a bit in a serious script. As bharath's brother, he added his part in sentiment scenes and when he was killed by villains, i felt someone else could have been chosen for this role. Even then he will do comedy in flashback scenes travelling throughout the movie.

Erica with her bigger eyes believes whatever bharath says and that makes the first half love portion little different from other movies. It might not be logically working out but created a variety in love portion. She and her acting can be marked as acceptable for the movie even though it was not extra ordinary. Another girl who comes for bharath's rescue was also apt for the character.

555 has a very good story which is properly narrated by the script giving credits to story writer and director respectively. Music was average and i could not remember any songs after coming out of theatre. Cinematography and editing were really good at some portions but lagged its pace between the scenes. Comedy was rightly placed without affecting the genre of the movie.

The only moviw which came in to my mind in the middle of the movie was “Samar” but 555 deviated from it in the main story. Not much of familiar cast other than santhanam, manobala and bharath making the movie cost effective.

First half will build the expectation in addition to few flashback sequences and second half will meet the expectation with lot of suspense breakers. Technology was completely utilized in building the screenplay. One example would be finding the heroine with villain’s car gps history and more. Script made the audience clap more than half a dozen times which usually happens in mass movies only.

Verdict : Overall a good story delivered in an interesting way...555 can be watched without any further thinking.

Chennai Express - First Bollywood movie completely shot in south India with lot of Tamil co actors which attracted Tamil audience mostly because of this reason. Bollywood super star Sharukh with Deepika made kalakkal lungi appearance in this Express along with south stars Priyamani, Satyaraj, and others directed by Rohit Shetty.

Evening Release - While Thalaiva has stuck up in release issues, chennai express was released on Thursday evening itself inspite of its official august 9 release date. Theatres have seen decent crowd due to the long weekend starting from this evening.

Good Beginning - Chennai Express starts with proper introduction of Sharukh, his grand parents, their interests, sentiments and travels quite meaningfully till interval. Sharukh expressed his usual comedy skills and made the first half fast running. Deepika who comes in to Sharukh's train travel comes through out the movie. Her make up and costume selection lags but she expressed better acting in few scenes. From the moment Deepika (a tamil girl) was introduced, movie travels bilingual (Tamil and Hindi) with most of the scenes requiring subtitles especially for bollywood fans.

Huge Tamil Crowd - As the complete express travels in Komban village of Tamilnadu, entire casting including Deepika's dad, cousin brothers, relatives, police officers, villain, everyone was chosen from Tamil cinema industry. Sathyaraj was not given full freedom to go with his natural acting because he looks restricted in lot of areas.

Outstanding Cinematography - Hats off to the cinematographer for showing Kombam village, Rameshwaram and other South India beautifully with his camera throughout the movie. Though lot of coloring filters were applied in most of the scenes, it looks attractive and makes us to simply say 'vow' to the photography. Editing was equally good and location selection also added its part.

Slow second half - Screenplay struggles in second half and moves very slowly making us feel like first half is far far better than second. 3 songs were part of second half when only one featuring Priyamani was part of first. Priyamani looks little slim when compared to her previous movies and even her costumes made her look not so good.

Masala Copies from Kolly/Tolly/Kannada Woods - Scene where all lovers assemble at store room is copied from "Super Stars" Muthu. Scene where Sharukh keeps knife at Deepika's neck and escapes in Gypsy resembles "Okkadu (Gilli)". Scene where Sharukh lifts Deepika and climbs temple steps resembles a Kannada movie. But all were perfectly fitted in appropriate places making a perfect masala outcome.

Mass Less, More Reality - Nowhere in the movie hero was portrayed as mass hero - Sharukh did not speak any self boosting punches and did not kill all rowdy vilains. The only dialogue repeated all through the movie "Dont under estimate a common man". Even in the climax fight, Sharukh was made to fight and struggle like a common man except where he comes back after a heavy blow.

Nothing Special Shetty - Rohit Shetty as a directory did not tell anything new in Chennai Express. Rajni's cutout was used in promo song "Lungi Dance" to attract Tamil audience towards theaters as like Ra One. Even though there lived a story in the film, it was not told in an interesting way with right screenplay.

Verdict: Chennai "Express" gives a travel experience as in a "Passenger" Train!!!

Pattathu Yaanai Tamil Movie Review

Pattathu Yaanai - Aishwarya Arjun's debut movie directed by Boopathy pandian in which Vishal plays a male lead. After serious of average rated movies, Vishal is expecting a break via Pattathu Yaanai. Aishwarya plays a plus 2 school student role. As last week releases did not show us Santhanam, here comes Pattathu Yaanai showing him in 3 roles with his roller coaster comedy ride. Whether Shiva's Sonna Puriyathu will be able to succeed over this comedy masala action thriller or not is still a question mark. Mentioning about the film's music, decent numbers were delivered by Thaman. Screened on 850 theaters and channel rights bagged by Zee Tamil.

Pattathu Yaanai Tamil Movie review Vishal Aishwarya Arjun

Review:

Vishal with his friends joins as a cook assistant under "Santhanam" turns in to an action hero in the interval..saves the heroine from villains...flashback says he lost an orphan girl who was treated as sister by orphan Vishal. A usual masala screenplay which did not have a clear story struggles a lot as it moves on.
There were lot of open ended questions like who is vishal and why he wants to save unknown people, etc. Pattathu Yaanai resembles to most of the Vishal's previous movies like Malaikottai, Sandakozhi, etc but fails to entertain the audience like those average rated movies itself.

Vishal has no big acting portion to do something new other than defeating Villain's team of 60 members in 2 minutes in 3 different fight sequences. Aishwarya Arjun has no much scope in the movie and Santhanam's one liners are missing as lot of comedy portion's were concept oriented. Comedy portions were very good at few scenes but didnt make us enjoy them due to confusing screenplay. 3 usual villains with 200 team members fighting against vishal loses to him and dies as usual.

Huge star cast like Pattimanram Raja, Sitha and bunch of comedians were not properly utilized at their most. Music was also very usual with all fight sequences equipped with sound bgm. Two songs were good and Thaman did not fail completely here.

Sonna Puriyathu Tamil Movie Review

Sonna Puriyathu starring Shiva and Vasundhara ("Peraanmai" Kalpana) is a masala comedy tamil movie directed by a debutant director Krishnan Jayaraj who was an assistant director of C.S.Amudhan ("Tamil Padam" director). One of the highlights is "Yaaruku Yaaro" fame Sam Anderson is also a part of Sonna Puriyathu. Movie is released on July 26th sharing theater screens with Vishal's "Pattathu Yaanai". Music is composed by Yaathish Mahadev. Total budget of Sonna Puriyathu touches 4.5 crores and release rights were bagged by Thenandal Films.

Sonna Puriyathu Tamil Movie Review Shiva Vasunthara

Review:

Let it be starting with an ulta hindi song...or ending with a punch comedy dialogue...humour is very generous in Sonna Puiyathu. There is some concept oriented story and screenplay present in this film when compared to shiva’s previous movies...one very important thing to be noted here is this film has a well written script and story when compared to "tamil padam" which was krishnan's guru c.s.amudhan’s movie....

Story revolves around very limited characters around 7 to 8 where everyone was very carefully picked and they did their job perfect. Shiva as usual with his one liner punch comedy dialogues and body language attracts the audience. Vasunthara was ok and can be seen only as a common girl and not as a heroine whereas hero’s friends did their part to their best...to be mentioned is omodern grandma who uses fb...plays angry birds was a generation comedy. Manobala plays the role of Kaalkattu.com’s owner and his line of comedies were also worth mentioning.

Highlight is the dubbing portions done for chinese movies by shiva and his friend...in particular for a discovery channel monkey. Sam Anderson just appears for 2 minutes and got the applause from huge crowd but no big portion for him.

Music is really acceptable for the script even though not extra ordinary, could be adjusted. Cinematography was very good and editing was awesome...a well written screenplay was a big plus. Debutant director feel was not at all there throughout the film. A very good entry for Krishnan Jeyaraj

Some of the scenes will resemble hangover and some will be similar to dum dum dum ‘s concept of both hero and heroine doesn’t want marriage and tries to stop it. Even these similarities didn’t last for more time and cannot be criticized.

Verdict: A comedy entertainer for the weekend completely defeating "pattathu yaanai" in the race...Good to see once!!!

Mariyan Tamil Movie Review

Mariyaan - means "immortal" in English. Based on a real story which was published in a newspaper, this script was written and directed by debutant Bharath Bala - an ad film director. Featuring Danush and Parvathi menon in lead, film has its music composed by AR Rahman. The film got a grand opening in metros with weekend movie lovers filling the theaters on first 3 days of its release, however Theatres/Screens where Singham 2 was released all over Tamilnadu didn't come forward to switch over to Mariyan even after 2 weeks, resulting in very minimal screens for Bharat bala's first Kollywood entry.

Mariyaan Tamil Movie Review 

Slowly Narrated: Movie starts with the sequence of love scenes between Danush and Parvathy, travels slowly till interval. Then comes the story in second half. Bharath would have avoided lengthy love scenes with song sequences in background. Though the songs and cinematography were good, screenplay failed to add its part to the good story. If this would have been shown even more faster not leaving the viewers to get out their seats in middle, not letting viewers to think when next thing will happen, Bharath would have succeeded in gaining audience applause.

 

Chance-less Danush: Another National award should be given for him for the second half. No other actor could have performed well than Danush there. He brought the real suffering, anger, love, pain everything out of a kidnapped person. Again he proved to be a best actor in Tamil Cinema. Parvathy done her job perfectly and a good come back for her. She resembled "Samantha" in church scene with candle. Uma riaz - Tamil Cinema got another mother face next to Saranya. Sudan Villian - cant accept as a powerful villian.

 

Verdict: Mariyan - Can be seen only for Danush and ARR. Otherwise Average only.

Singam 2 - A Mass Masala Entertainer

சிங்கம் 2 - சிங்கம் படத்தின் sequel. அந்த படத்தின் நடிகர்களுடன் வேறு சில புதிய முகங்களையும் சேர்த்து செய்த ஒரு மசாலா படம். ஒரு ஹீரோ, இரண்டு  heroine, இரண்டு காமெடியன்கள், மூன்று வில்லன்கள் என்று எக்கச்சக்க நடிகர் பட்டாளம். சிங்கம் படத்தின் முக்கிய காட்சிகளோடு தொடங்கும் டைட்டில் கார்டு நல்ல rewinder.

போலீஸ் வேலையை விட்டுவிட்டு NCC  மாஸ்டர் ஆகா பணி புரியும் ஹீரோ தூத்துக்குடியில் போதை மருந்து கடத்தல் நடப்பதை கண்டுபிடித்து கலவரம் வரும் போது\மீண்டும் DSP ஆகா சார்ஜ் எடுத்து கொண்டு போதை பொருள் சப்ளை  செய்யும் இன்டர்நேஷனல் கிரிமினலை பிடித்தாரா இல்லையா என்பதே கதை. first ஹால்ப் சந்தானம் காமெடி பிளஸ் ஹன்சிகா லவ்னு விறுவிறுன்னு போகுது. செகண்ட் ஹால்ப் விருவிருப்பா  போனாலும் எப்ப டா முடிப்பாங்க னு தோன வெக்குது.

ஹன்சிகா ஸ்கூல் பொண்ணா  வரும்போது நல்லா  இருக்காங்க. வெறுமனே சில காட்சிகளுக்கு வந்தாலும் நல்ல ரோல் இருக்கு படத்துல. அனுஷ்காவ இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் brighta காம்சிருக்கலாம். இந்த படத்துலயும் சூர்யாவுக்கும் அனுஷ்காவுக்கும் கடைசி வரைக்கும் கல்யாணம் பண்ணி வைக்கல நம்ம ஹரி. இன்னொரு sequel எடுத்தாலும் எடுப்பார் போல!!!

சந்தானம் ஒன் liners இந்த படத்துல சிரிக்க வெக்கிது."நாயாவது உன்ன பாக்குத்தே னு சந்தோஷ படு." "உங்களுக்கு பேரு வங்கி தரேன்...எனக்கு பீர் வாங்கி தாங்க"   timing ல  கேட்டா நல்ல இருக்கு. விவேக் as usual situation காமெடி தான்.

Songs அவ்ளவா  நல்லா  இல்ல..ரெண்டு songuku வெளில எழுந்து போய்டேன். background ஸ்கோர் பரவா  இல்லை. opening songku அஞ்சலி டான்ஸ் பண்ணிருகாங்க...ரொம்ப சுமார் ரகம்.

Cinematography நல்லா  இருக்கு. மெயினா ஸ்க்ரீன்ப்ளே ஹரி ஓட அனுபவத்த காட்டுது...என்ன டா சும்மா கத்தி கத்தி வசனம் பேசறாரே ஹீரோ னு  trailer பாக்கும்போது பீல் பண்ணேன் பட் அதுல நல்ல அர்தங்கள ஹரி வெச்சது பெரிய பிளஸ். நான் அப்டி நீ அப்டினு பஞ்ச் dialogues கொஞ்சம் இருந்தாலும் நிறையவே சமூக அக்கறை கொண்ட குடும்பத்தோட பார்க்க கூடிய dialogues வெச்சதுக்கு hats ஆப் டு ஹரி's டீம்.

 Indian Police பவர் என்ன னு இன்டர்நேஷனல் வில்லனுக்கு காம்சிருகார் நம்ம டைரக்டர்.

மொத்ததுல ஒரு மசாலா படம் ...written well னு சொல்லலாம்.

Ambikapathi (a) Raanjhanna - Worth of Money!!!

அம்பிகாபதி- தனுஷோட முதல் ஹிந்தி படம்,,,  ரஹ்மான் மியூசிக் ...ஆனாலும் டபிங் படம் தானனு நெனச்சோ ஹிந்தில பாத்தா தான்  நல்லா இருக்கும்னு  நெனச்சோ   மிஸ்  பண்ண   வேண்டாம். ஏன்னா படத்துல ஆழமான கதை இருக்கு...அத நல்ல திரைக்கதை மூலமா தெளிவா கொண்டு போயிருக்கார்  நம்ம ஹிந்தி டைரக்டர்.

ஒரு பொண்ணு பின்னாடி போனா எவ்ளோ பெரிய அப்பாடக்கர் ஆனாலும் சீக்கிரம் ஒண்ணும் இல்லாம போய் உயிர விட்ற நிலைமை கூட வரலாம் ..அதே சமயம்  அதே பொண்ணால ஒண்ணுமில்லாத ஒருத்தன எவ்ளோ பெரிய உயரத்துக்கும் போக வைக்க முடியும் அப்டிங்கற நம்ம ரொம்ப பழைய பொன்மொழிய சிறப்பான காட்சி அமைப்புல தேர்ந்த நடிகர்கள வெச்சு வெற்றிகறமா சொல்லிருக்கார் இயக்குனர்.

தனுஷ் பத்தி சொல்லவே வேண்டாம்...நடிப்பு பிரமாதம்...இன்னொரு நேஷனல் அவார்ட் கூட தரலாம்...சோனம் பளிச்சுன்னு வர ஹீரோயின் படம் முழுக்க வராங்க...ஹீரோவோட friend கேரக்டர் குட் ....தனுஷ ஓன்  சைடு லவ் பண்ற பொண்ணு ஓகே....

Triangular லவ் ஸ்டோரி....அதுல  கொஞ்சம் அரசியல்...கடைசில யாரு லவ் ல தோத்தா... யாரு அரசியல்ல ஜெயிச்சா அப்டிங்கறது தான் கதை...

Musicல கொஞ்சம் நார்த் இந்தியன் ஸ்டைல் இருந்தாலும் கதையோட அழகா பயணம் செய்ய வெச்ருகார் இசைப்புயல்...பாடல்கள் தாளம் போட வெக்குது.

First half லயே கதைய fastஆ நகர்த்தி அந்த ஸ்பீட் கொஞ்சம் கூட செகண்ட் ஹால்ப் ல குறையாம பாத்துகுடதால dubbing படங்ரதெ பல இடத்துல மறந்து ரும்...சில எடத்துல கோரஸ் வரும்போது  "இந்த பட போதுமா... இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் வேணுமா " னு போட்டு dubbing னு remind பண்ணிருவாங்க....:)


மொத்ததுல...குடுத்த பணத்துக்கு வொர்தான படம்...பாக்க வேண்டிய படம் !!!!
